Multi-Skilled Trainee

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Multi-Skilled Trainee.

This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to explore various departments within our cloth and yarn production process, allowing you to discover your strengths and interests while gaining diverse skills. Through a comprehensive training program and mentorship, you will develop expertise in areas such as tuning, weaving, warping, twisting, maintenance, health and safety, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training and Development:
    • Participate in a structured on-site training program, rotating through different departments to gain hands-on experience.
    • Work closely with a mentor to receive guidance and feedback.
    • Engage in training activities, including reading plans and drafts related to production and technical operations.

    Technical Proficiency:

    • Learn and understand key processes, including warping, twisting, and other technical aspects of cloth and yarn production.
    • Operate and maintain machinery efficiently under supervision.

    Health and Safety:

    • Understand and follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Participate in training to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Develop an understanding of quality control processes.
    • Learn to identify and address issues to ensure high standards in production.

    Problem-Solving and Maintenance:

    • Assist with maintenance tasks and learn basic troubleshooting techniques.
    • Work collaboratively to ensure seamless operations across departments.

    Pathway Exploration:

    • Gain experience in various aspects of the production process to identify areas of interest and aptitude.
    • Collaborate with team leaders to choose a long-term pathway that aligns with your strengths and career goals.

Skills & Competencies

  • Mechanical interest or experience
  • Level 2 in Maths & English.
  • Excellent Colour vision is a requirement due to the nature of the role.
  • Flexibility towards working hours and duties deemed suitable.
  • Good team player and willingness to support and help other colleagues.
