Burler & Mender Operative
Overview
As a Mender at Abraham Moon & Sons Ltd, your primary responsibility is to inspect and repair luxury woven fabrics, ensuring that only high-quality materials are processed further. Working in a calm and detail-oriented environment, you will receive training to effectively manage your own mending station. The role is integral in ensuring the company’s products meet the highest standards of craftsmanship before being sent for final finishing.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring that Abraham Moon & Sons Ltd delivers the finest woven fabrics to its customers, supporting the company’s reputation for excellence.
- Inspect and Repair Fabrics: Carefully check woven fabrics for defects and mend any faults to ensure quality standards are met.
- Determine Mending Requirements: Assess the type of repair needed for each design, tailoring your approach accordingly.
- Mend Various Faults: Fix issues such as knots and dropped ends in the fabric.
- Safe Use of Tools: Use appropriate tools in a safe and correct manner while working.
- Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure consistent quality throughout the mending process, adhering to company standards.
- Hand Sewing Expertise: Proficient in hand sewing with excellent hand-eye coordination for precision work.
- Focus and Attention to Detail: Ability to concentrate for extended periods due to the intricate nature of the work.
- Organisational Skills: Strong ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a structured manner.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Methodical in approach, with the ability to identify issues and develop solutions.
